He's won the hearts of millions. But is he willing to lose his?

I met the president’s son when we were both young. Matthew Hamilton was handsome, polished, and intelligent. I’d never met a guy like him.

He promised me that he’d never run for president. I promised that if he did, I’d be by his side.

Three terms later, an invitation to join Matthew Hamilton’s campaign is the most exhilarating opportunity I’ve ever experienced. I'm determined to make a difference; he is determined to win.

Focused on his goal, Matt is steadfast, ruthless, and disarming. All eyes are on him and his popularity is surging. But soon, the next possible president of the United States is possessing me in more ways than one—and despite the risks, I'm helpless to resist.

We're stealing touches, stealing moments, and stealing away at night. But our chemical connection is quickly becoming dangerously combustive, putting not only my heart, but Matt's chance at the presidency on the line.

Winning will take everything. Walking away will be the hardest thing of all.

Where do I begin?

Let's get this out of the way first: I am a sucker for this trope. The whole famous person x non-famous person pairing? Yep! I simply cannot resist. So imagine my excitement upon discovering Katy Evans' new book, Mr. President. I couldn't wait to dive into it.

The story starts off in present time, with a campaign team anxiously awaiting primaries results to come in. Already it was intriguing and exciting so I thought it was the perfect way to set up the story. The chapter ends in a cliffhanger... but I think you pretty much know how it'll turn out given that this is a series. Hah! But anyway, right after the first chapter we're taken to a flashback of all the years and months leading up to the moment. It was a clever idea in my opinion. It takes readers on for quite a ride starting from their first meeting up to the end of the campaign's first leg. The overall effect is that you somehow get more attached not only to Charlotte and Matt, but also to all the secondary characters who pop in and out of the story. This made the reading experience richer and I always appreciate any story that is able to do just that.

The storytelling was smooth. There was a clear and complete depiction of how it is in a campaign trail that didn't bore me reader into oblivion with the nitty-gritty of it all. Evans was also highly effective in portraying the romance between Charlotte and Matt. I wish there was more tension in the beginning though as a build up to ~all the sex~ but that's okay. The mix of naughty banter and sweet gentleness was enough to make up for it. True to any Katy Evans book — the romance was hot and you're sure to get a lot of it.

All in all, Mr. President is a must for anyone who enjoys a good romance. Needless to say, the plot and the romance really appealed to me and I'm sure it will for a lot of people. It's simply a good book.
