Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and Bookish
This is my first time participating in this meme. I just saw the title and I thought, well this is PERFECT FOR ME! Ever since I started book blogging and the requests poured in, I couldn't get started on any of the series I've been meaning to read. I just keep buying the first book but I never actually start the series. Sad, I know.
Here are ten of the series that I would like to start but haven't yet: (oh and..... NO SPOILERS, PLEASE)
1. SHATTER ME by Tahereh Mafi - For those of you who don't know, Tahereh recently had a book signing here in the Philippines. I wanted to go so badly but a) I had Saturday classes til 6PM and b) I haven't even started the series. The books are still neatly wrapped, tucked away in my shelf. I've heard great things about this. I'm especially curious about chapter 62 (or as Tahereh would call it, "dirty-two") of Unravel Me. Hmm.
2. DIVERGENT by Veronica Roth - Yet another book unopened. And there's a movie coming out. Like I always say whenever a movie adaptation is set to be released, "I have got to read the book first!"
3. SEA BREEZE by Abbi Glines - I have never opened a single Abbi Glines book... and I feel so out of the loop. Man. My friend recommended this series to me 3 months ago. Three. Months. Ago.
4. MARA DYER by Michelle Hodkin - I'm not going to lie. I liked the cover so I picked it up and... holy cow it's a YA paranormal/fantasy?
5. LUNAR CHRONICLES by Marissa Meyer - I don't have the books yet but a lot of my friends loved it so I'm definitely going to try this one sometime in the future..... hopefully not too far into the future. *sighs*
6. LUX by Jennifer L. Armentrout - I've always wanted to start this but........aliens. A lot of people seem to like it so I'm definitely going to give this one a go. It's just.......aliens. It's only a matter of semantics with me, really. I read plenty of paranormal stuff but whenever I read/hear the word aliens... yep.
7. THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS by Cassandra Clare - There's a movie coming out! There's a movie coming out! I feel so left behind dang it!!!
8. THE INFERNAL DEVICES by Cassandra Clare - Naturally.
9. UNDER THE NEVER SKY by Veronica Rossi - Every time I visit the bookstore I'm always tempted to get this but some other book attracts me. I will get this, someday. Not sure when. Hopefully soon.
10. THE LORD OF THE RINGS by J.RR. Tolkien - THE ONLY NON-YA/NA BOOK IN THE LIST. I'm purposefully avoiding this for now. I want to have a reading marathon just like what I did with the movies. I'm not sure how long it's going to take me though but I am freaking determined!

Divergent, City of Bones and Under the Never Sky are all on my list too! There are just so many good series out there!

Oh, you should really read Mara Dyer, Cinder and Under the Never Sky! They're all amazing.
ReplyDeleteA lot of these would be on my list, too, ha ha. I'm kinda a slacker that way. My TBR list is bottomless. : )
ReplyDeleteNew follower here! Ahhh, Shatter Me! Be still my heart - one of my most favorite books EVER! Totally a must read soon! Here's my top 10: http://theonceandfuturelibrarian.blogspot.com/2013/03/top-10-tuesday-i-have-series-ly-put-off.html
ReplyDeleteMara Dryer and the Lux series are some of my favorite. I read the first book of the Sea Breeze series, Breathe, and loved it. I have the other ones loaded on my iPad ready to go. You really should read Abbi Glines, she is amazing. I am now reading Never Too Far, the sequel to Fallen Too Far. Love it so far.
