Blogger Spotlight #2: Charlie @ Letter Trails

PROFILE

Name: Charlie
Blog Name: Letter Trails
Blogoversary: October 31st, 2012
Preferred genres: Young Adult
Short Bio: I am Charlie but unfortunately, I am not a boy. It’s rare to see me, even walking around the university, without my earphones so that pretty much hints about my relationship with music. But two things I am deeply in love with are books and coffee.

INTERVIEW

What inspired you to start blogging?
I’ve been posting at Goodreads for a while before I started blogging and I met some cool people then, I sort of stalked their blogs. At first, I was against it since I try to stay away from anything that screams ‘big responsibility’ but my mother encouraged me to do it.

How did you come up with your blog name and theme?
Ha! Blog name…this is so not enlightening at all. It wasn’t CC&GB at first. It was first called ‘Selfish Stargazer’. It was an old name/username I came up before I started book blogging. I just finished reading An Abundance of Katherines and I was amazed how Colin could anagram words that fast. So I tried to anagram John Green’s novels and their female characters, and chose the words that describe me.
The Fault in Our Stars = unselfish out art rat
Hazel Grace Lancaster = hence call a stargazer

But I sort of find it negative to be used as a blog name, because of the word selfish, so I changed it. I have no idea what came into my mind when I named it Charlie, Coffee and a Good Book. I just put my name on it and two things I want to be with always, then boom. I thought it was super long when I started to type it at the address bar but I have no other choices. Haha!

So far what has been the biggest challenge in book blogging?
I’d consider my schedule as the biggest challenge so far. I’m currently a second year college student and some of my subjects require more physical participation compared to just answering some quizzes and exams. Since I started blogging, I really want to be there all the time and it’s hard not to be able to check stuff when I’m at school or on the go with whatever activities I’m in.

What’s your favorite thing about blogging?
Free books! Who doesn’t love free books? I am really thankful to Netgalley, Edelweiss and the authors who contact me for review requests, as well as blog tour hosts.

I know for a fact that you finish books rather quickly than most people so I have to ask, on average how fast do you finish reading books?
If school and being lazy is not in the way, one book per day. Fastest would be two books.

If you would be given a chance to have a cameo in any book/series, what would you choose and why?
One of Miranda Kenneally’s books, maybe from the Hundred Oaks series. Or from Katie McGarry’s book. Hopefully, I’d get to have an awesome kissing scene there since these women write pretty damn good swoon-worthy kissing scenes.
