Quick Fire Review of Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty (Spoiler: I really liked it!)

I think I have this inability to STAY interested in a mystery book just when answers are being revealed. I had a lot of fun with 3/4 of the book. Characters were interesting, underlying themes spot on, and the build up was quite good — the interviews included in the middle of some chapters added a nice touch to the intrigue.

But then it sort of just plateaued for me towards the end. I’m not exactly sure what happened. To me it felt like the book took on a whole different mood from there. (Well it should, it’s a murder mystery after all....) And I couldn’t just care for any of it. I was done.

Overall a good book. Others might have a better reaction to the revelation and the aftermath than I did.
